    Prayer born of the Spirit

Friday, November 2, 2007, 02:17 AM EST [General]

We Christians seldom admit that we don't know how to pray. Many of us have been taught since childhood how to put sentences together that sound like a prayer, to the point that we are professionals at it. Some can turn out an eloquent presentation to GOD at a moment's notice.

Prayer born of the Spirit, however, is another dimension of calling on GOD to the point of having the Holy Spirit supernaturally assist us. This is not a worked - up emotionalism but a powerful promise of help from GOD himself!

The Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express  Romans 8:26

But you, dear friend, build yourselves up in your most holy faith & pray in the Holy Spirit. Jude 20

May the GOD of hope fill you with all joy & peace as you trust in HIM, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the HOLY SPIRIT. Romans 15:13.

    Revelation 6:9-11

Monday, October 29, 2007, 01:43 AM EST [General]

The altar represents the altar of sacrifice in the temple, where animals were sacrificed to atone for sins. Instead of the animals blood at the base of the altar, John saw the souls of myrters who had died for preaching the gospel. These myrters were told that still more would lose their lives for their belief in CHRIST (6:11). In the face of warfare, famine, persecution, & death, Christians will be called on to stand firmly for what they believe. Only those who endure to the end will be rewarded by GOD (Mark 13:13).
The marters are eager for GOD to bring justice to the earth, but they are told to wait. GOD is not waiting until a certain number is reached, but HE is promising that those who suffer & die for their faith will not be forgotton. Rather, they will be singled out by GOD for special honor. We may wish for justice immediately, as these myrters did, but we must be patient. GOD works according to HIS own timetable, & HE promises justice. No suffering for the sake of GOD's kingdom, however is wasted.
